"Not sure of the company who direct hired me. Thought it was Adecco, but my wife says it is some other outfit, success something or other, does anyone know who they are? I should already know this, for sure but need to know now."

Former Employee - Meat Associate says

"Pay is way too low buddy"

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"everyone has to start out part time, depending on the job title the pay is not the best, for the work that is required"

Former Employee - Cashier says

"The employees act like they are in high school. Lots of backstabbing and gossip. The moral is very low and it is not a fun place to work. The attitude of the other workers creates a mundane and less than cheerful environment."

Meat/Seafood Associate (Former Employee) says

"Bad management. Pathetic hours. They only care about the lifers working there. The union is a joke. Good luck having to call in there to get a question answered or to get any kind of information out of anyone useful. You'll get transferred dozens of times to a person not in the department you're looking for. It's an all around directionless mess with a complete lack of communication on anyone's end. Don't get sick in such a way that you have to take days off either. They hate that.Occasional pizza?Everything else."

Cashier (Former Employee) says

"Had to work every weekend, late nights, always held over. Never got days off I requested for family events. Worked me 7-10 days in a row during holiday seasons. On your feet all day. Physically demanding job! NoneHours, short breaks, unfriendly management"

Overnight Stocker (Former Employee) says

"my few months experience there was horrible, the management there was never to be found. The amount of freight wasn't reasonable to finish within my 7 hour shift. Plus no overtime to finish itfree drinksBad managment"

Food Clerk (Former Employee) says

"It started off nice until management switched then the pay gaps started. Did I mention Meijer is anti-Union which they argue is because they value your opinion and have a so called open door policy which they don’t.RepetitiveManagement"

Service Coordinator (Current Employee) says

"Miscommunication amongst all managers. They’re never on the same page and contradict themselves every single day. They all take vacations at the same time and leave the store short staffed. It’s not a good place to work in my humble opinion anymore. Especially during COVID NoneEverything"

Customer service (Former Employee) says

"● Work-life balanceWork-life balance at Meijer is sucks what more you need it su ks● Pay & benefitsMy pay and benefits at Meijer are part time mom wage with union dues pay su k hr aucks work conditions are wore● ManagementIn general, managers at Meijerlie to u"

Stocker Associate (Former Employee) says

"I worked at store 170 as a 3rd Shift Stocker for around 4-ish months and it was awful. The managers besides one were all on some kind of power trip. When I first got there I did some computer training as for like 3/4ish hours and then was thrown into the job with little to no actual training. I had never used a jack before, didn't know where anything in the back went, where to get supplies etcetc. They also expected me to off the bat be as fast and good as other stockers who had been working there for years. And if you asked any questions they treat you like a dumb child. The managers rarely ever helped all the floor and spent all their time in the back office with the doors closed talking and eating. The whole place was like being back in highschool that doesn't care about their students. There was drama between everyone and if you asked for help with an issue with someone they made fun of you behind your back. I hope you're not gender nonconforming or disabled in some kind of way either because the manager will purposely misgender you, commit medical discrimination and give you points for things you can't control. CleanTransphobia, Ableism, Very Poor management, Low pay"

Overnight Stocker (Former Employee) says

"Overnight management is useless, lazy and can never be found. Human resources is a joke, her job should be obsolete, animals at the zoo could be trained to do H.R. better than she does."

Stocking Clerk (Current Employee) says

"3rd shift management forgets they aren't in highschool and anymore , district manager doesn't listen to employees problems and union is never any help"

Produce Associate (Former Employee) says

"I hate working there. Racist dishonest people. Its not a good place to work there. Don’t do it. Not nice people. It suck..........🙁 don’ it Not sureManagers"

Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee) says

"I worked for Meijer from May 2, 1990 until September 20, 2010. I was not respected toward the end of my 20 year career as a cashier. I was terminated over uncontrolled seizures. This company doesn't comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act as they will terminate people whose disabilities the company determines as "high maintenance". The only enjoyable part of my job as a cashier were my regular customers; they came through my lane because they knew I knew how to bag their orders; that I gave them good quality customer service. I listened to my customers; my lousy team leaders in 2010 jumped on my case if I listened to my customers wishes and did not follow the company's "rules".NO pros.poor healthcare coverage; no incentives to climb the ladder of achievement"

asset protection/store detective (Former Employee) says

"Bad and horrible and they don't care about you .pay is horrible people are horrible store director is horrible .no leadership and I would never tell anyone to work there"

Frozen Food Stocker (Current Employee) says

"Management went down tubes, no communication. Also they will make you work weekends no matter what and change your schedule without telling you. I was 1st shift for a year and one day I was switched to second shift. That doesn't work for me I said but they don't care. Also I worked 36 hours a week and was told multiple times I would be switched to full time status so I can get benefits and health insurance I need. That never happened...on top of that they say its "family" there but not true at all. Everyone I was hired with a year ago either got fired over some questionable reasons or quit cuz they're fed up. Do yourself a favor and stay away from working at this terrible company!"

Pricing Specialist and every one elses job (Former Employee) says

"Do not work for this company all who is hire up is lazy they push to many jobs on you that you cant get done on your shift then yell in your face that you didn't get them done it is a learn by your self job they teach you nothing and the pay is not what it should be all so if you join the union its not worth the money they will not help you and they take the side of the company before youNothingpoor management"

Softlines Team Member (Current Employee) says

"Started off as a decent place to work, now it's not even decent. Almost impossible to get a weekend off, pay isn't great, management is lazy and passes off work to everyone else.Flexible hoursPoor management"

Team Member (Current Employee) says

"This was a very terrible company. They care more about the name of the store than they do about their employees in all honesty. It is sickening in all honesty."

Cashier (Former Employee) says

"The "so called" management just stands around even when you need help its more of a figure it out your self. The management is always talking about other employees giving out personal information about what is going on with that employee. When there is a problem with schedules forget talking to management about it because their moto is either show up or dont come at all.. They dont work with other jobs either."

Stocker/Customer Service (Former Employee) says

"I did enjoy Meijers until I went to 3rd shift.I was outdone by the way expiration dates were disregarded.sheleves were not stocked properly and staff was always overworked, rushed or written upThey have good programs with fundingManagement is not good at all"

Cashier (Former Employee) says

"The managers are very strict. It can be physically demanding at times. It seems like the managers just want the workers to be robots daily. You could work 8.5 hour days.Pay is goodRude managers and customers"

Stocker/Customer Service (Former Employee) says

"This job was so easy but I had to act like I was dumb. Only one manager liked me and did his best to keep me here. As for my immediate co-worker she was nothing but rude and was not smart at all. So the day that she decided to cuss at me I just walked away after telling management I was done being bullied everyday by her.NothingNo money, days off were apart and not alot of room to move up"

Wildkat says

"Meijer\'s hired me for 3 days a week then immediately put me on schedule for 4 days a week. After I went to the useless store manager Linda and she acted like I wasn\'t worth 5 minutes of her time I knew this job was shit. They assured me if would be taken care of. Two weeks later another horrible manager Lucinda altered the schedule and put me on 4 days. I immediately quit monday that week. The hiring video preaches family which is a joke. The high employee turnover leads to bullshit overtime and being understaffed every night." is a non-profit organization and communications forum for social activism.
